How to rebuild tourism for a sustainable and balanced future?

Join us to discuss the path forward for the travel and tourism sector and how Travalyst can help the sector to be reimagined, with communities at the heart of the revival and recovery.

The COVID-19 global pandemic has had a devastating impact on the travel and tourism sector, with forecasts that more than 100 million jobs in the industry around the world are at risk; representing a loss of over a third of all tourism-related jobs.

Now, there is a critical need for a global reimagining of the international travel and tourism industry, as one of the world’s largest service sectors seeks to recover from an unprecedented shutdown. Through the collective power of our partners and platforms, Travalyst is bringing the industry together to build back better, and with more resilience; by working alongside communities and destinations who are reliant on the tourism industry, to ensure sustainability is part of their recovery efforts. Together, we have the opportunity to rebuild for a more balanced and equitable future.

In order to understand the greatest challenges and priorities to recovery, Travalyst is hosting a virtual Global Summit to bring together stakeholders from across the travel and tourism industry to listen, learn and explore how we can help the sector to be reimagined with communities at the heart of the revival and recovery.

About Travalyst

Travalyst is a global sustainable travel and tourism non-profit, founded by The Duke of Sussex in September 2019 together with Booking.com, Skyscanner, Trip.com Group, Tripadvisor and Visa, with the ambition to change the impact of travel for good; by protecting people, places and ecosystems, and to secure a positive future for destinations and local communities for generations to come.

This first-of-its-kind initiative is dedicated to exploring and promoting solutions that will make travel and tourism more sustainable through collaborative partnerships that bring together the collective expertise and perspectives of local communities, policymakers, governments, non-governmental organisations, other leading businesses and social entrepreneurs; leveraging technology and strategic initiatives to help scale the global supply of sustainable travel options to meet the growing market demand from consumers.
